I got the dgdecode file and extracted it to the Avisynth plugin folder. I also re-made the .d2v files in DGIndex, but VirtualDub is still giving me errors with line 2 of the script

Very useful, and I'm hoping increased used will prod Scintilla towards finishing it. http://www.aquilinestudios.org/avsfilters/

Try just copy/pasting this into an avisynth file and telling me what you get. If all you've done is install the amvapp, this should work fine.

Code: Select all

LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins\DGDecode.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins\Decomb521.dll")
mpeg2source("D:\footage")

something with your file name.

see if you deleted the quotations by mistake.
make sure the dv2 file is in the same folder as the script
make sure the file name is spelled correctly

it works now, w00t 8-)

When I remade the .d2v files, I somehow managed to save it as "osiris.avs.d2v" and didn't change it in the script. I changed it and it works

Huge thanks for helping out a noob!

no prob

you got such great help because of your attitude and the fact that you took the time to learn some avs scripting. you get some respect points in my book for that.

thanks. I didn't realise that I'd jumped in at the deep end, so to speak. I think I'll actually take some time to learn avs scripting properly.

As you might have guessed, I'm working with "The Flight of the Osiris" from the Animatrix, which is the CG episode. I've looked at some action sequences in VirtualDub, and they look fine, so do I need to bother with deinterlacing and such?

you won't need to deinterlace. my script already took care of that.

i'm starting to like you more and more. your on of the few noobs who actually realize that this hobby has a learning curve.
most of them just give up and go download some divx/xvid fansubs.

you sir, get an internet for your understanding

Why thank you! and I'm not a sir, but  at the coupon

I've actually been waiting quite awhile to do an AMV. I'm in my final year of highschool and I'm doing my exams. I wanted to wait until I had the time to sit down and learn how to do it properly.

I'm just wondering, why did you recommend that I stick with scripting? Is it just better to learn it now instead of later, or is it a better method?

the coupon also entitles you to honorary balls. you may call yourself whatever you like.
