Don't be so quick to judge others.

If I get either a dollar or a donut out of this then my life will have been made that much the better!
Well, he already owes you the dollar and/or donut, so I'm talking about the future

Seriously, I enjoy browsing contest threads to see who's improving, if my friends got in, etc - I'm sick and tired of so many contest threads turning into Brakus-fueled bitchfests.

Time to post the obligatory sympathy story... sigh..

Back in 2003, I sent a video to Anime Expo that I spent 8 months on and it didn't make the final cut. Yeah, I was discouraged, but I still had fun at the con anyways. In fact, it even became one of the AX's I remember as one of my favorites.

Then again, if this is the way you want to feel, then by all means, feel this way. :?

hmm I read everything and i Have to say that Brakus posting his emotions wanted only to read replies something like " common you aren't that bad, try harder and you will get to the finals"

Give him a break, now everyone are jumping at him.

But Brakus look your problem is that you don't know if you want to go to the con. Ehh now listen I made the finals and what. Ofcourse I am happy that it will be shown on big screen but I don't have any chance of seeing it:( Poland is accross the ocean, the trip would be too expensive for me. I don't even have enough cash to go to cons in my country:(:(

For me just meeting other creators would be great thing, to talk about amvs,to listen what can be done better, ehh dreams for me. And you can have all that. In Poland there are about 20 ppl doing amvs and it is hard to meet all. Usually we talk on comunicators. ehh no more comments that you don't want to go to con cause your vid didn't make the finals >< it is just a bit childlish.

and good luck to all^_^

Why would I use local band music when I know it isn't popular. Because I have an idea and I think it could work. If it is successful makes it more all the better because you have done something unique and something that was challenging. I make them because I have a great time doing it. It is a way for me to relax and express myself. (I have a feeling if you do that now it would make me think of a german angst amv. lol just kidding Brakus.) You just have to relax and realize that your video willn't always make the finals. You'll have your highs and lows while making amv's. You just have to ride out the high times as much as you can and enjoy it while it last for your video.
you know >.>
this advice sounds really familiar

Maybe it's because YOU CAN'T STOP TELLING US YOUR FUCKING POINT OF VIEW EVERY GODDAMNED SECOND OF EVERY GODDAMNED DAY AND WE ARE FUCKING SICK OF FUCKING HEARING ABOUT IT.

Ever think of that?

P.S. Please don't go to Anime USA, it'll save us the trouble of avoiding you. And whether or not you're there, we'll be talking about you behind your back and making fun of you. Honest. I guarantee we'll have a lower opinion of you than we do of genestarwind - at least HE's mellowed out over time.

1. You mean "come on," not "common."

2. An Internet forum is not the place to seek real-life affirmation/

3. You obviously haven't noticed how brakus posts the EXACT SAME "emotional discussion" following every single contest thread relating to contests he's entered.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

Not quite. Do you see any mention of After Effects this time?

Brakus, I already gave you my advice on this, so I'm not going to do it again here.

Congratulations to all the finalists! And if Vic would be so kind as to give me directions, maybe I can help out next year. :P
