cant get to work

It says that when you try to open the video?
Whats the exact error message it says?

couldnt locate decompressor for format dx50(unknown)

virtualdub requires a video for windows(vfw)comparible codec to decompress video. directshow codecs such as those used by windows media player are not suitable

That means you don't have divx installed. You need to install it to be able to open the video

I don't know.It might be a different codec the video player is using to render it.

You should try installing ffdshow video decoder
That supports multiple codecs like divx, xvid, mpeg1 ect

Thats weird i never had a problem playing a video encoded in divx with ffdshow.

It opens in virtualdub but doesn't show anything?
