DGindex
it converts vob files to d2v files which you can then convert (using avisynth and VirtualDubMod) to avi files

but this one only works with dvd footage, it won't help too much with fansubs

Here is one free one that i found
http://www.stoik.com/products/svc/
There is also a pro version that can handle more formats but it cost money.

If you are trying to convert MKV and OGM files, those can be done in Virtualdub Mod
The video converter i posted above can handle WMV, Avi and other formats

I know some good converters,eg,winavi,nero,but they all need pay. :oops: If you don't mind,maybe can try trial version of them.And I think it's worth for that.

so does that mean if i want to convert MKV to any other format then i'll have to pay the "pro" or buy the product?
