37 seems too long to cover only the first arc of deathnote. At the same time it would be hard to fit the entire series into that many episodes.... i dunno, i'm just itching for the next one though :D .

I think the 2nd movie comes out November 3rd (November 2nd if you're using US time). The DVD to the first movie should be released this week on the 27th (that would make it the 26th in the US) I believe.

37 episodes? That doesn't sound right. It's very rare for anime production companies to break the "rule of seasons". Most of the time, anime will be released in 13 or 26 episode seasons (1/4 or 1/2 the weeks in a year), give or take 1 episode every now and then. I'm with Kadaj on this one.... 37 is a strange number of episodes for a season. My guess is that there will be 52 total episodes and the end of 26 as the halfway point.

I stand corrected, Death Note movie 1 comes out on October 25th on DVD in Japan.

The (legal) HK Version comes out on November 27th and will have English subs with it too.

It is 37 episodes, i read it on the Death note website, and also on ANN.

I can't wait till the English subbed, I'm gonna buy it.

Thanks for the Info

37 eps actually makes sense: 13 x 3 = 39, less two off weeks for holidays/etc. ^__^

I'm not familiar with the Death Note manga or the movie, but I am somewhat intrigued after watching the first 2 episodes. Looks spiffy.

... then again, that's how I felt about Bleach when it first came out :?

Bleach was dragged and with some fillers, but still very impressive.

Presuming there are only 37 episodes, and noting that the manga is finished, there should be no fillers here. All A1 quality goodness :D .

Hmm just read the OP lyrics, probably the first time I've seen the lyrics actually relate to the anime lol

hahaha.....deathnote is definately good...... I mean you got the one dude doing this one thing, and this other dude screwing up that thing, and some other dudes, with their things......

thats sarcasm, all the dudes-deathnote is the one anime/manga I'll never spoil, not even for me  but its GREAT and its addicting! Who here thought volume 7 was amazingly "omfg"?!
whats kainda funny is that Ed's 5'6", and he's taller than me. ............and he's called short..............*sigh*

Hmmm, episode 4 was pretty slick.
Ever since Ryuk told Light that someone is watching him, he made up a rather ingenious plan to discover his identity. This involves using the other capabilites of the Death Note, a drug addict who's about to die anyways, and his so-called "date" (man, his popularity really gives him one hell of an edge to get by unnoticed ).

And he succeeded! It's Ray Penbar who's an FBI agent.

yeah...but I was slightly suprised when...
spoiler wrote:Light turned down to offer for the Shinagami's eyes...kinda makes sense, but there was one other thing the confused me. Light seems determined ot kill Ray...but Ray isn't a criminal.
It could just be because Ray is a threat to Light, but it still seems that Light is starting to loose sight of his original intentions. Do I smell a bit of foreshadowing?

maybe it's just because I haven't read the manga...
