do you need a DVD drive to take footage from DVD's?

and if theres anything else I need to know, can you give me a hint?

Yes you do need a DVD drive for that ^^
you will also need a DVD ripper like DVD Decryptor

Ive heard a rumor that you can get footage from dvds by holding them in direct sunlight. The rays from the sun bounces off the disc and sends it to your computer.
I haven't tried it yet though
You should try it and tell me if it works ^_~

I let my brother have my dvd drive, about the ripper, I got no cash, so I'm out of that group

LOL.. funny thread!! i knew nothing like a week ago.. and i am not doing too bad i think... what say you not give up that easy and do some reading of the tutorials? it all looks so damn hard in the beginning.. but once u begin to understand stuff.. take it from me.. its the absolute best way to kill time.. time flies and its fun too!

burn time by drawing, trying to animate the drawings(I'm not too bad)
but I don't have a dvd ripper, so I can't get the footage, and I gave away my dvddrive so I'm kinda stuck

You'll find out sooner or later, but eventually you're going to have to download this if you want to follow that guide at all. The package includes a very good DVD ripper, free of charge
