Premiere Pro closing while trying to disable safe area?

Postby FlaxSeed » Tue Oct 03, 2006 2:12 pm

Hey all.

Basically, I'm trying to get rid of my project's safe area. Everytime I reduce the percentages to 0 and hit ok, it closes. Is there another way to remove the safe area? (The black around the actual video.)

From what i've seen (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong anyone) the title safe area is simply a guide for the user that lets you know what section of the video it would be a good idea to put titles on and it doesn't actually do anything in an of itself.

that's correct.
because of the way tv (and tv signals) works, not all of the picture is shown.
so title safe and action safe areas were made to let you know how far [to the edge of the video] you could put titles/have action without it being cut off/distorted (more of a problem with crt displays...but because people still use crts, you have to deal with it on lcd and plasma/dlp tvs too...but on non-crts you can view most if not all of the overscan area).

I don't think this is relevent for computer displays (even crt monitors)

So, what of the black that is placed around the exported video? Is there a way to get rid of that? (lol, already know what the TV cut-off is.)

Premiere Pro doesn't put black around exported videos -- if black borders are there, it's because your project resolution is higher than the resolution of the video clips you're using.
