Problems with VirtualDub and Etc

Postby Anjira » Tue Sep 26, 2006 2:54 pm

Hello. I was trying to convert some VOB footage that I have on my computer by following the guide here on working on dvd footage, but I'm really confused with all of the wordpad input and such; it's the only part that I'm not sure of. I installed all of the programs and such like he said, but I'm just so confused. Does anyone know of an easier way to convert my footage that I ripped into something usable without going through 30 some steps and using scripts? Thanks. ^^

This hobby involves work... If you're not comfortable with that, then I suggest you quit now.

Well, I know that it does, but I have never worked with scripts and such before, or notepad and such so I really don't understand all of this quite yet.

I'm determined...which is why I've spend a good part of my day trying to figure it out instead on working on a paper that I should be writing ^^

First, just do exactly what the guides say. Then, after you see that it works, you try to understand it. After that, the more complicated scripting is a breeze.
And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

Just like driving a car right? People know that a car works, but not how the car works...

Just keep it simple to start with, and make sure to double check that your typing and spelling is all correct. We could help you better if you mentioned any errors you were getting. Or even better, post your script so we can scrutinize every little detail.

There's a handy utility here that will allow you to copy filepaths to the clipboard. It really is a godsend when loading filters and files into scripts, and will make substituting the filepaths given in the tech guide a breeze.

Just trying to avoid the Believe problem...
