About a software (please answer)

Postby Banass » Sun Sep 24, 2006 8:43 pm

Ok, I have an anime in .rm format, but Windows movie maker cannot take this format, so I would like to know if there is another software (movie maker) that can take the latter.

Thanks in advance.

Your question is a bit confusing, but I think I get it.

I'm pretty sure that no video editing programs can handle .rm format, since it's a specific format (Real Player). Either way, you'd be better off getting it in a different format.

Damn! This is sad....*sight* BTW, is there a good converter software that I can use (free would be appreciated). Also, thanks for your previous answer.

p.s.:My English can be a little complicated to understand 'cause it is not my first language...

Hmm...well, you could use VirtualDubMod (with AMVapp, or alone, or you can try to find something on [url=http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=video%20converter&tag=srch]download.com. =)

Wow, I totally couldn't tell it was your second language! You're very good at it. ^-^

Sorry for the double post, but there is no edit button in this forum.

Then again, I will thank you. I'll try the link that you gave me. BTW, I heard about an Adobe software that can use .rm to make AMV. Is that true?

I'm not sure. Like I said before, I'm not completely confident that they can't be used, it's just what I would assume.

The product you're thinking about is probably Adobe Premier Pro. You could always try it out and see it if works. =)

as of premiere pro 1.5...there is no support for .rm files...
it may have changed for premiere pro 2.0, but I doubt it

If you must use fansubs...at least get them encoded with xvid...
the video quality you will get from using divx or rm or rmvb footage is deplorable.

If the dvds are avaliable in your area, it is highly encouraged that you buy the dvds (or rent them, or borrow from friends) and use those. Besides giving you better quality footage 99.999999% of the time, this site forbids the use of fansubs in amvs
