mpeg version of VDubMod?

Postby Digitalmaster3605 » Mon Sep 18, 2006 5:35 pm

Okay, well, this isn't AMV related, but i took video of one of my friends at one of her concert's, and the video of 108megs, and she wants to put it up on youtube, so she can show her friends that don't live around us. So it needs to be under 100 megs. I've tried recompressing it to XviD but that actually increases the file size to 122megs. I know that if I compress the audio then it'll be under the 100 meg rule, but my question is is there a freeware application that will do that like VDubMod can for other video files? I don't wanna change the video at all, just compress the audio, mux it, and then have a smaller filesize because of the compressed audio.

Read this. It's a decent, if slightly dated, guide to getting good results from XviD. Worst come to worst, knock down the quants a little and the compression jumps.

Mmmkay. I was using that guide. I'll knock down the quant's to try to get it to compress more.

I should rephrase. Given the way the quants work, you should increment the minimum quants and leave the max quants alone.

If you just need to compress the audio, then it's pretty easy to get below 100 MB. http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... audio.html

Yeah, but how do I mux it? VDubMod can't direct stream copy mpegs. But I got it down to 20 megs, and it doesn't look like shit, so I'm fine with it. Thanks everyone.
