virtualdubmod help

It's probably something obvious, but how do you decrease the size of a file in that? Audio's not a problem, It's just the video I'm having trouble with.

Um... you have use other formats too. Xvid is not the best anymore. I use wmv9 sometimes and H264 too. Mp4 is funny on my computer , you can try it too.

KonoE Studio, I will not give good ops because you put in effort. Quality in terms of artistic touch is what I look for.

read the guides.
And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

Very easy to read. But I reccomend looking into x.264 compression, it does wonders for your filesize. At this moment the org does not host guides that cover x.264, but maybe one of the other users can refer you to one (or if you have the patience you can look for one on Google).

(I couldn't quite understand what you were trying to say...what I think you said is that you can't play H.264 videos on divx player...so use divx instead of x.264)

absolutely not.
in terms of video quality and compression it goes like this:
divx < xvid < x.264
huffyuv and lagarith give perfect quality (assuming you don't convert to yuy2), but don't offer much in the way of compression

if you can't see it in your current player, get CCCP

well...compared to uncompressed RGB it does compress a fair ammount, but compared to other codecs such as divx/xvid and x.264 it doesn't offer as much compression

4min amv uncompressed: ~6GB
huffyuv/lagarith: ~1GB
xvid: ~60-70 MB
x.264: ~40 MB
