After Effects arrow keys - something that really annoys me

Postby Gox777 » Sat Sep 16, 2006 4:17 pm

I'm using After Effects 7.0 right now. One thing that really annoys me is that when you press left or right on the arrow keys, it moves the position of the video frame rather than skipping ahead by one frame on the timeline (as most editing programs do when you press the arrow keys). Is there a way I can change these settings or another key that moves ahead one frame in the timeline? I hate having to use the mouse to move ahead by tiny amounts.

Many thanks.

Bah, nevermind.
I've had AE for months and I just realized that the page up/down keys work for frame skipping. XD
Sorry bout that. Time to get back to work.

or you could press ctrl+arrow key to move frame by frame
I am using after effects 6.5...so it might not be the same in 7...but I'd think they would keep the keyboard commands pretty similar from version to version
