Some File size problems

Postby Mithos-kun » Sun Sep 10, 2006 4:07 pm

I followed this guide on the website:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/xvid.html
And I have a 2 pass encode but it's 108MB. Is there any way I can make it smaller? Or do I have to reduce the frame size? I also have another problem.
This happened when I exported my video from Premiere:

As you can see part of Ed's mouth is exposed at the bottom. I was trying to lip synch that part. It's looks fine in Premiere it's just when I export it.
Thanks in advance.

Did you compress the audio as well?

In xvid you specifically set either the bitrate or the filesize of the video, which will determine how large it gets (not taking audio into account).

Actually no I didn't. I set the filesize though. Somewhere around 32000KB I think. I'll read the guide through again.

Incase it doesn't say in the guide (I don't feel like reading through again), to compress the audio in virtualdub, go up to streams and you should see the audio stream in the list. Right click on it and change it full processing mode, then choose the compression.
The best thing to use for compression is LAME. You'll have to download LAME ACM first, otherwise it won't show up in the list of ways to compress it.

LAME ACM
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/LAME_ACM_Codec.htm

I suggest anywhere from 128kb/s to 192kb/s for the bitrate.

It's ok. It's sorted. Thanks for the advice anyway. I posted a link to the video in the announcements forum.
