ogm/avi with subs

Postby inuhikarifan » Thu Aug 31, 2006 5:15 pm

That's right, I want to put subs IN (is this a first? they're important...). So I can convert from ogm to avi fine, that's not a problem... but the subtitles disappear. The subs for this file are embedded, they are not separate .sub or .srt files so I think that might be the problem... but alas, I have no idea where to go from here.

Any clues?

Use DirectVobSub to mux the subs in with the video. However, this means you have to re-encode the video.

I think I used GraphEdit the one time I tried this; there might be a version of VobSub that works as a VirtualDubMod plugin as well.

You could also type in the subs in your video editor by hand. All editing software should have some sort of text overlay function. Depending on how much subtitling you want, this may be tedious.
