Help with anisynth/interlacing... *sigh*

Postby Napkins » Sun Aug 27, 2006 12:58 pm

A couple of problems. Some that probably aren't a big deal... anyway. In the guide about avisynth and what-not (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech), and after downloading pretty much everything it tells me to, it says to do some things. The simple colorbars thing and open it in windows media player. It won't. Infact none of it will, and now my WMP won't open at all now. Not really what I'm worried about, just a little concerned.

What I really need help with it deinterlacing my DVD. Everything I use to deinterlace it, doesn't work. Then when I tried KernelDient or Tdient, Vdub-mod says that no such program exists. I've been working on it for about a week and I haven't gotten anywhere. I just need some tips or something.

Thank you.

Is it this page you can't get past?

In no particular order...
1. It's KernelDeint and TDeint, if that's what you've been typing.
2. I remember TDeint being in the trickyloaders folder, which means you have to load it manually (loadplugin("[path to]TDeint.dll")). Only .dll and .avsi files that are in the plugins folder will auto-load.
3. What error message did you get when you tried to play the colorbars in WMP?

If you haven't managed to get the AviSynth tests working, then you can't use it. If it's VDM you're using at the moment, then I don't think it works with AviSynth scripts. AviSynth can use VDM plugins, but that's not much help at the moment.

Sounds like AviSynth isn't installed at all.

When I try to open the colorbars in WMP, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play."

Yeah, AviSynth hasn't installed properly. Uninstall the AMVApp and try again. It won't hurt at this early stage to start over. If you get any errors during the AviSynth install, make a note of them. By the way, what's the problem with WMP (are you referring to 6.4, or the version with all the multimedia doohickeys?)? Does it close immediately upon opening, or do you get some sort of error message?

Ill reinstall it. Thank you.
My WMP is the the one with the new media doohickies. I don't have 6.4. I searched for it. At first there would be errors. It would just state an error. Then when I tried to load "Believe" into it as avs, it wouldn't load. Then it wouldn't open up for anything until I restarted my computer. I haven't tried it since, but I'm thinking Ill see what will happen if I try it again. I think I've had a long enough break from it where I can stand a little bit of frustration. ^_^ Thank you for helping me.

6.4 comes with Windows automatically (unless you live in Europe, but don't quote me on that - I don't know if that stipulation extended to mplayer2.exe or not, and even if it did, it would only apply to Windows machines/discs bought within the last couple years). It's in C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\, and it's the file named mplayer2.exe. If you really don't have it, you can download it for free from Microsoft's website:
