Does the manga explore the characters a lot more? There's a entire time/space continuum to explore and I get snap shots, with a polaroid no less. Maybe I'm just spoiled after enjoying the depth given to monster, but, c'mon. That was even worse than Tsukihime. Even if you ignore the whole array of undeveloped characters, what about the general plot? The background story? What's this association? What's the point of the Holy Grail War in the first place? Are they working towards their own goal? Wasn't it them who created it in the first place? Why? Run out of Survivor episodes to make? What about the world of magicians in the first place, and the three families lead by the.... eizn? family? And why german? Was it at least the german of many years ago, or was it more modern stuff you'd find a guy in Berlin speaking? How about latin? Sounds much more moving when spoken correctly. Who the hell let the voice for archer speak english. Is there really no stupid american they can pay to speak just those parts? Or some other native english speaker so that it doesn't sound out of place? One who can orrate and really move someone would be nice, but hell, just proper pronounciation wouldn't kill them. If they had a budget to blow on fight scenes, why not develop the characters a little better with an extra episode and cut back on wasted time and money on fight scenes. If you have an opponent to kill, then kill. Strike without hesitation.

If I can avoid it, I think I'll try to avoid eclipse subbing, their choice of words I felt killed/distorted the intended emotion of the scene. Or just lack of putting a word there. Unless of course those words were actually in the japanese, in which case who let the people write the script.

I blame Monster. Some of the best story telling I've seen in any medium from any time period.

Like angelx03 said, this is one of the casualties of making an anime series from the game, since they can only do one ending of multiple game endings. However, it's also their choice of ending that left confusion as well; if they had done the "Heaven's Feel" ending, then most of it would have been explained and it would have been ALOT less confusing. Also, they added pieces from the other stories into the Fate story which only confused the watchers even more. Scenes such as Archer fighting Berserker and Archer's Noble Phantasm, Unlimited Blade Works, were not shown. The small Caster arc was not shown as well, it was much shorter and less confusing in the game. Them using German as a "spell language" is not uncommon, it is used in many anime. For my last point, I think it was best that they used Archer's voiceactor for his English parts; it would have sounded very odd if they had used a different voice actor, and that is probably some of the best English I've heard a Japan native speak.

Good to see they're using the same covers as the R2 releases. I hope they use the same cover for Vol 2, nothing is more badass than a blood-soaked Saber. :P I'll scan in all the R2 covers in a few weeks and share them (they're not with me at the moment).

All I can say is: I hope to all damnation that they make an anime adtaptation for Fate Hollow Ataraxia... that would pwn soo much if they did.

Well, it is highly unlikely they will make an anime adaptation of Hollow Ataraxia. Seeing as how the anime followed the cannon scenario with elements from HF and UBW, it is safe to assume that the anime was a way to get you interested in the game. This is because they are planning to release a PS2 version of the original game but with all of the H-scenes taken out(well, already have released it). The chances of them releasing a series/movie based on Hollow Ataraxia, Heaven's Feel, or Unlimited Blade Works is probably less than 5%. It would be extremely difficult to make Hollow Ataraxia into an anime IMO, for a variety of reasons. One of them being that the FSN anime barely explains anything and most anime-only Fate fans would be very confused.

Nonetheless.. I thought that Ataraxia was by far more interesting.. mostly with the major introduction of Avenger and all, and Lancers true master. (and the skirtless Priestess too! :P )

The 4day time looping thing was quite interesting as well.. but yeah. it would confuse the hell out of people, unless they decide to modify it like they did with FSN.

Well, in reality they didn't alter FSN that much from the original story. They just left parts out and added another arc and some scenes. Besides that, most of it stayed true to the Fate scenario.

Sort of related, but I found this:

http://www.fate-zero.com/

http://anime-comments.blogspot.com/2006 ... -zero.html

TYPE-MOON and Nitroplus are working together to create a new visual novel called Fate/Zero. This takes place 10 years before of the Fate/stay night series so this is its prequel. Because it's 10 years before, the main Masters will more likely be.....
Shirou's dad Kiritsugu Emiya, Kotomine, and a female which some people speculate to be Ilya's mom. The Servants will obviously include Saber and Gilgamesh, but it'll also include a new servant whose True Name is Alexander the Great.

Now chances of this becoming an anime series will probably happen around 2009 or 2010 at least!

The characters we KNOW will be in there are Kotomine, Kiritsugu, Alexander the Great, King Arthur, and one of the Hassans.
