Postby hanyou_gurl » Thu Aug 10, 2006 3:43 pm

Hey for some time now I have been using WMM and just got Vegas 6.0 but I am so confused by it.How do you cut you episodes into clips? And its just a totally different layout then WMM I don't even know how to trim or edit my clips I'm so confused! Someone help me with Vegas.Cover the basics I guess

I'll save LadyMercury some trouble (if not some grief) by linking to her tutorial for her.

I'm not sure if you can cut episodes into clips like WMM, but if you right-click on the file in Vegas and hit 'Open in Trimmer' you can select a clip to put onto the timeline. Vegas lets you work with clips easier than WMM I find, just aim for roughly what you want and then tweak it on the timeline. The trimmer feature is about as good as the clips feature in WMM, and the difference in editing styles more than makes up for the rest.

I've seen people do this. They've made the video in WMM and then edit and had effects in vegas. Is that what ur hinting at?

No, He's saying the fact that you have to make your own clips in Vegas is a small price to pay for how much better it is than WMM.

And what he means is that WMM splits the clip up for you so you don't have to split them while Vegas just has the whole clip there so you have to split it up yourself but is worth it since Vegas is such a more better program.
8-) Did that clear it up?
I knew stealing Optimus Primes DNA was a stupid idea... but I did it anyway! :3

Sorry I respond quickly and opt for the gender spicific pronoun "he" over the nutral pronoun "it" as the later is dehumanizing and most writers actualy do the same for the sake of brevity. Also, "they" in the singular is not correct English. When i'm not rushed I often look at forum profiles or just state the name again.

Not offended, just correcting. I always thought my nick was feminine enough I'd be assumed female (although a disturbing number of people read it as 'Jay')
