Premiere closing automatically

Postby TheOneFreeman » Wed Aug 02, 2006 10:14 am

Ok I don't understand whats going on,
but for some reason, I was in Premiere, working on a video, and trying to export the file out as an .avi file, and then it just quit out; I try to re-open the project file, but every time, it loads up most of the way, then just quits out; this has happened to me multiple times, and I don't know how to fix it, and its becoming really annoying because I have to continually remake the video over and over and over again, please help...

i dont know what going on but maybe you can try importing the old project into a new project as a workaround.

How can I import the old project, if I can't get into the old project file to begin with, and no I do not have any videos already made as .avi files

Create a new project, open the Import window and select your other project. Everything in the old project, including the sequences, wil be imported into a new bin with all the sub-bins, just like it was in the original project.

Or you can try finding the backup projects. If you're using Premiere /Pro, they'll be in a folder called Premiere Pro Auto-Save located in the same folder as your project. For older versions of Premiere, they'll be in Premiere's install directory.

Premiere is finicky sometimes. I've also found if it doesn't like certain resolutions (say something odd like 616x357) it will export then die, corrupting the last bit of the file and rendering it nigh unusable.

What were you working with for footage? That may be one of the issues.

I take them off into .vob files, and make that into an .avs file, what more do you need?

It might help if you click the always suggest rgb output option for huffy
(can do this in virtualdub from the compression window...video window in vdubmod)
you might not have enough physical ram to render huffy video (doesn't help that premiere takes so much ram either)
