this belongs in video software help

it would also help us help you if you told us what your problem was. (all I got was that you have a problem)
computer specs would be nice too

the mods will probably move this.

Are you in the middle of a project?

And is it possible to post a screen cap of the error message?

And yes, computer and OS specs would be helpful.

I remember that message, it's just a warning in case you were already in the middle of a project. That's in case you are using some older versions of DLLs for Avisynth or such. You should be able to just hit a continue button and get it to keep going, otherwise it's a problem with the installer and your machine. I got my software from the GordianKnot website, works great.

Learning to run a marathon before you learn to crawl eh? I'd suggest getting some basic computer knowledge under your belt before you try doing anything so complex as editing.

Yeah, yeah. But he said he's using a Compaq computer. I've installed OSX on my PC, but I doubt he is doing that. However Macs tend to crash and freeze more often than my XP machine. I have the touch of death when it comes to Macs. :P

As far as the AMVapp installer repeating. I would uninstall the AMVapp or similar programs that it will install. This is assuming you don't need those programs at the time being. Then redownload it and try it again. When any issues arise again please give a detailed description of what you were doing and include screencaps if possible.

Yeah, also, try turning off your antivirus protection. For some reason avast! sees Virtual Dub Mod as adware and wouldn't let me install it, I had to take down my avast! for a few minutse to install, and if I do a system check it tries to say VDubMod is adware, its kinda funny.

amvapp

Postby ProtoCat » Wed Jul 26, 2006 6:17 pm

ok this is what i did, i went back to download amvapp again (i was bored so i used the internet while it's loading) then i didn't have enough time so i clicked cancel and the next day i went back to the website to download it again ( it stared from where it left off) then it was done. the next day (now) i started on the amvapp downloading systems but it showed me that same greeting:

Waring: Never install new versions of the Amvapp while in the middle of a video project
if you have installed the Amvapp before, please uninstall the old copy before intalling the new one

so i just started picking the systems and i ran the tests but it still did that same message

please please please help me    :(
