WMM never works

Postby Naru Narusegawa » Mon Jul 24, 2006 8:33 pm

On my old computer, I hadn't had all these particular problems though, like, if I don't play the whole project from the beginning then the music is off- not in the same place, and it stops a lot, sometimes in a certain spot. Is there anything I can do?!

Also, wmm isn't a very acurate program for synch. Hardware may also be an issue, but it all boils down to the editing softare. For perfect synch, you really can't use WMM (unless you want to spend forever and a day making very exact cuts and testing the timing again and again).

And if you're going to do that, you might as well use WMM just for a rough draft and then bite the bullet and do the vid in VDM.

To this day, I'm still in awe over the idea that a *good* amv can be made in VirtualDub.

It certainly wasn't designed to be used that way... >.>;; Hard.

But yeah, I got to thinking today randomly that one could make a filter for VDM that would change the speed of the clip (not the framerate, the actual speed) by a user-defined amount to get perfectly timed clips in WMM... and then kinda tossed it 'cause it'd be real hard... >.> Better to get a program that'll just do it in itself.

That said, WMM's "magical" 30FPS output does often produce magically synched results. I was shocked how close you can get with just Speed Up x2, Slow Down x2 and some clip trimming.

No, I use MP3s all the time, it works fine.

However, I have had this problem with audio before.

Here's what I suggest. Take your audio, save it in WMM as "high quality" audio, and if you re-import that it will not change positions all the time and still sound good. :)

Thank you, this is all helpful. Is there any recomended programs better then WMM? (that's either free or doesn't coast an arm and a leg) - something like WMM, but that doesn't have all these problems and has a lot of good effects?[/code]

AVS media editor is basically a more advanced WMM...but you have to buy it...otherwise it'll leave a watermark on your files....so...no.

How much is it? And does it have the thing where you can put two clips together- like a faded clip over another one?
