The moment I spotted the mark on Renge's tummy, I died from laughter. Ah, inside jokes.

Highlight for explanation, as if you need one wrote:BONES, the studio that animates Ouran HSHC also animated RahXephon. And Maaya Sakamoto, the voice actress for Haruhi, also had a role in RahXephon)

I love Renge.

I don't know what took me so long to check out this series.... I originally got turned off from it because I thought it was purely SHonen Ai. (wich isn't realy my thing) but after keeping up with this thread for a while, I decided to check it out.

I freakin love this series after 2 episodes  Its right up there with Haruhi on the comedy level, and the art is realy pretty. I'll be keeping tabs on this one now  WHile there are some Shonen Ai Comedic refrences so far its tollerable for me.

The manga is reallly cute, though, like any other BONES production, I see the two heading in two different directions :)

I'm enjoying the Anime, which is unusual for me when I've read the manga first. They leave a lot of stuff that would be VERY sweet in Anime out, and added that otaku girl, but for the most part, it says very close to the manga.

Any idea how many episodes there are going to be in total? And any links to where I can buy the DVDs?

#16 worried me. I mean, Fruits Basket started out light and turned into angst, so it's almost to be expected - but if this series does that too, I will cry tears of blood. It's struck me so far as a bit of a shoujo parody, or at least self-aware shoujo, so argh sappy love story and turning Haruhi into a soppy help-save-me cliche. The last OMGLIGHTNING scene wasn't played quite as annoyingly. Maybe because there wasn't so much overreaction by the rest of the cast.

That and it was more fun when the twins' act was an act. Kaoru is Designated Sweet Little Gay Boy and Hikaru is Designated Angry Straight Boy and that's supposed to actually be their personalities and they aren't clowning around anymore behind the scenes and that's really no fun at all. IMO. But I'm not saying it's wrong, just that the world has so. many. Angry Boy / Helpless Girl love stories already, so one more on the pile isn't thrilling me much.

I just started reading the manga, however, so maybe that will be more to my taste. And the fun stuff - when it comes up - is still fun, so I appreciate that.

It didn't seem like something I'd be interested at all... But now my roomates (one of which is a guy) and I watch it all the time and love it to death. So funny and melodramatic!

I must thank the Org for getting me hooked on this series. I saw an AMV with it and decided to check it out. This was a couple days ago and I'm already caught up to episode 22. On top of that I got my best friend addicted as well! :)

One thing that does annoy me is the seeming emphasis on the twins. I mean, we get it - they lived in their own little world until the Host Club and Haruhi came along. There was angst. Blah blah. Can't we get more of the other characters? :?

Me too. THANKS, ORG, DAMN YOU ALL. 8-)

I'm glad I'm not the only one bored with that same storyline being retold to us three times. It was poignant the first time around, but it's taking so long to move ahead - not a good quality in a comedy series.

Oh well. Only a few more episodes to go, probably. Sniff. I'm not as fond of the manga as I am of the anime, so far, but it'll be a good enough substitute.
