I know for a fact that this isn't AM2 (besides being 940 pin instead of 939, I must use ddr instead of ddr2...not that I'm complainig about that)
this model was pretty much the last amd based laptop to not use athlon64 mobile or turion processors (suprisingly, my laptop runs 32C idle and about 54C load)
given that the cpu in my laptop is a 3200+ instead of a mobile 3200+(socket 939 vs 754, 1.5vcore vs 1.0v-1.35vcore, 1000HTT vs 800HTT, athlon 64 case badge instead of athlon mobile 64), a sanDiego core (althon 3700+) draws slightly more power, but produces less heat.
the manchester core (x2 3800+) draws about half as much power as the newcastle, and runs significantly cooler (or at least that's what I take from
this review. I could be very mistaken however)
the problem i'm having is gathering any info about the motherboard beyond what cpu-z gave me
cpu-z might be giving me bad info, as far as I can tell...there are no s939 newcastle cores with 130nm processes with 1.5vcore
