Kratos could totally beat up your dad. With his own limbs. Unless your dad is Voltron.

Where/how did he buy it? Online? In a store? Then based on that, you can take action.

As for bootlegging, it's totally wrong. I've bought maybe one in my whole life, but didn't realize it at the time. It was an anime I had bought from a local store that was later shut down for the same reason.

Bootleg anime is made soely to be bought by the poor or try'n'buy. Its practically the same price as renting but you don't have to waste 6-8 blank dvd-r's to watch the whole thing b4 you need to return them.

on top of that living in aus most of the bootlegd series i purchase havnt been licenced and wont be for another 6months to 3yrs( still most of my collection is legit around 3/4, it just feels better on the inside to own legit, and now that im begining to earn a stable income those series which have been licencd and produced i am purchasing, FMA all the way)

don't u look at me alls u mr "bootleg buyers should be shot, those fn loose morald fuks." I have a right as an australian to buy whats cheapest cause our economy sucks and petrol costs $1.50/ltr.....and bananas r at $15/kg.

No, there is no legitimate reason to buy bootlegs. You want cheap anime? That's what the internet is for.

Also, certain organized crime organizations make more money on bootlegs than on drug sales.

What about when the bootlegs look and sound lightyears better than the commercial R1s (i.e., the Sailor Moon movies)?

Then you buy the R2s.

Honestly, if you're not supporting the companies, at least have the decency to not support the bootleggers either. "internet, yar"

this is still while the companies producing the legits are raping our wallets?
cmon: FLCL, 6 eps on 3 discs...wtf, eva 26 eps on 8discs. All 26 ep series are ranged between $120-$200. That my freind is wrong. And this whole "loss in video quality", if fitting 4 eps onto a 4.7 GB dvd is fine, then why is the quality los when 8 eps are put on a 8.3 (close enough) dual layer dvd, the loss in quality is extreemly small and unnoticable if not even exisant. Only difference being when u get a bootleg without english audio the subs can be a little off track (its better than waiting another 3 years before you get the legit, when you find out that the subs wern't far off).

If the companies start supporting the buyers then i'll start supporting them.
