Rap?

Postby soulcalibur1234567890 » Thu Jul 06, 2006 10:09 am

I've been a member of a-m-v.org for a decent length(2-3 years) and I haven't noticed many videos with rap music, I was wondering why is this?

It mainly has to do with how hard it is to find source material that syncs with rap lyrics. It's hard (if not impossible) to do a line-by-line lyric sync with rap music as opposed to say, alt. rock or pop or whatever.

Almost all of the rap/hip-hop AMVs I've seen on the 'Org seem to be really forced. Take from that what you will.

Also, take into account that the majority of the collective community isn't in to rap music. Feel free to check this thread for rap AMVs: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=46868

Lol that's probably true, rap is hard to match and the majority of this site isn't really into rap.

I tried making a rap video mainly because the beat was amazing in my opinion but the lyrics were not very good( crap acually ).

Thanks for the answer.

There are a few hip-hop heads around here. Emphasis on the word "few".

Sorry I didn't know about the size limit of a sig.(It's my first sig to be honest and I'm new at this forum stuff even though I joined a while ago).

Anyways can someone tell me the size limit of a sig (all i see on the limit is 512 characters) or should I ask elsewhere?

I did 2 AMV at least with hip-hop songs.
The first one is not beautiful to watch, I was a beginner, but I used a Herbaliser's song (here) and the second is using a french rap song on Samurai Champloo AMV (here with translation here)

I hope mention my own videos is not a bad thing :?

Try listening to your music first and just let the ideas come to you. It might work. Then again, it might not.

A lot of people hear really aren't into the hip-hop/rap scene. they see it from a generalized perspective or don't listen to it all, therefore, it doesn't show up in too many videos. Plus, rap synching is hard.

I say if you want to see more rap videos, don't talk about it. Step out of the box and do something.

Well that's a bit of a generalisation...it's only the general music forum that's full of hardcore metalheads
