Since rock could be said to be an English language music creation, any rock music sung in English could also be said to fall into the category of plain "rock". Same for pop music, I suppose, too. Anyhow, Jrock and Jpop are just terms for Japanese rock and pop music. Why the seperation? Because of language, like I mentioned earlier. It's more complex than that, certainly, but I think that's the basic factor.

And I don't want to hear any of this "It's all one world rock, man". That's hippy bullshit. There are differences between English language music and foreign language music.

Which is, of course, complete and utter bullshit. They would have you ignore that they have in the past year or two taken down the largest online music trading services; they would have you ignore that their sales fell after that. And, for some reason, they couldn't possibly think that a recession has anything at all to do with the level of discretionary spending. Nothing at all.

Hmm, though, they are just as good as the next guy at lieing with statistics.
