Newbie Question on Divx/Xvid

Postby shimra » Tue Jun 13, 2006 8:26 pm

Hi all. I have a bunch of fansubs and rips from the internet that I would like to edit together for an educational presentation that I'm doing on anime. My collection is in all sorts of formats, divx, xvid, etc, and I play it using a codec pack that works on my pc.

Is there any video editing software that would let me edit a bunch of fansub clips together so I could easily play and pause them one after the other for my presentation?

(My co-presenter owns most of the shows on DVD, but switching between DVDs is not practical, and ripping the DVD files seems like a lot more work than droping the fansubs into a editing timeline)

Even though it's more work, it's more ethical, and better for video quality to use the DVDs. Have you read any of the guides?

::here's a hint, it doesn't matter what footage you start with, the parts after ripping the dvd (transcoding) are exactly the same::

you could edit out the clips you want and just make a powerpoint presentation. :P

or if you meant make just 1 vid then just use windows movie maker to peice everything together.

Just put the clips together, edit them, and make one movie in WMM. And if you want to put them on a dvd, just use nero to do that. Very easy and simple to do
