Alright, these were announced a few hours ago. I'm just getting back to my room. Let me just say, it was an amazing contest. Best in Show was a bit of a shock, 'cause it was what I would have voted for, and I'm miserable at reading crowds. Anyway, on to the winners:

Judges Awards

Judges' Choice
One More Beginning - krzt321
Chrono Crusade
The Sun Song - Michael Tolcher

Best Concept
Gattsu's Promise - Michael Zubrzycki
Outlaw Star
I'd Die For You - Bon Jovi

Best Editing
true:Fiction - Jonathan Reed
Various
Das Omen - E Nomine

Audience Awards

Best Drama
Lost Ones - Reigna
The Place Promised in our Early Days
Change the World - Anberlin

Best Fun/Upbeat/Other
Foxman Begins - Songbird 21
Naruto
Batman Begins - Movie Trailer

Best Romance
Conter Les Heures - Kiarrens, Tech Girl Productions
Chrono Crusade
Hallelujah - Rufus Wainwright

Best Comedy
Fullmetal Hell - Dan Orlowitz, Third Lens Open Productions
Fullmetal Alchemist
Various Songs - Various Artists

Best Action AND Best in Show
Hold Me Now - Marisa Panaccio
Princess Tutu
Hall Om Mig Nu - Nanne Gronnevall

Kudos to all the winners and the finalists, and great job on the contest and that intro, Adam!

This video isn't actually by Michael, there was a printing error in the program...

:acdc:

My vid will be uploaded when I get back to my friend's house this evening.

GREAT, INCREDIBLE, and AMAZING contest, despite the fact that we lost so many people in the audience because of Kaiju Big Battel (which moved us to Panel A on Friday), and then the encore screening at 10AM on Saturday (when most people were asleep). With only a couple hundred ballots actually cast, Al and I decided that most of the people in the Masq were seeing the winning videos for the first time. I hope AB will treat the AMV contest with a bit more respect next year in regards to scheduling, because there's gold in them hills and most of the congoers didn't get a chance to see some excellent videos. Congrats to all the entries and especially to the winners!

Now, to check out of my room and get ready for today's panels...

True Fiction

It is my belief that the real battle among the AMVs Action and Best of show was between the Princess Tutu and True Fiction. I'm happy that both were recognized as good awards.

I'd like to see that confirmed, if possible. This title showed up at Katsucon and Tekkoshocon under his name. :?

Yeah, that is my vid! Gattsu's Promise, my Berserk romance vid. If the program said Michael made it, then it is correct. Did the program say something else? I wasn't able to make it due to my work, so I have no clue.

Nope, I lifted all the info straight from the ballot - that's how it was listed.

Chris

PS-I had to bolt this morning - I had a 9:00 AM flight. Did you get to give your speech, Dan? How DID that wrap-up panel go?

Got it! Yeah, seems there was a typo, lol. Source footage was Berserk. Oh well. But my last name was spelled correctly! :D :D

Always pleased when the spelling of my last name is correct!

Thanks again for the clarification, and I appreciate the post on the results!
