spoke too soon
Congrats to all.
i'm actually really content with the results, except viewers choice for best comedy. felt that won becuse of the sources they used and not because of actual editing. i have nothing against the person who edited it but i really hate those kind of videos. i feel like they are cheap and the easy way to make a comedy video. a good comedy video doesn't need small parody one liners.
personally that contest was one of the worst i've seen (no fault to scott, mostly the audiences reactions and disrespect for the videos being played), but after seeing the results i don't feel so bad about it. I think those that won are the ones that should've.
I think "Hold Me Now" (viewer's choice for best free form) was the best video in the contest.
and congrats to my brother for winning judges choice for best action

THANK YOU TaranT for the list !!!!
Pwolf i agree with you too..
This years contest overall wasn't as good as last years. but none the less the people that won deserved it.
I get the feeling the short one-liner comdey is getting WAY over used. Zarxrax's AMV Hell idea has been copied by people, overdone and generally beaten into the ground.
HurQlez03: I personally liked your video and voted for it. I am glad you won the Judges pick. personally i think that is a little more meaningful than the crowd vote. as more than half of the audience probably doesn't KNOW how to make an AMV, and they dont appreciate how it really connects. It was up to par with AX2005 last years drama winner grats. I am currently working on a drama as well, hopefully i'll make it in time for AX2006
And yes grats to your brother
* i am very happy i only saw one FF:AC video..ONLY ONE. the judges musta gotten like 20 other FF:AC videos. and i am glad people are moving away from over-excessive lip-syncing AMVs.
What is with this craze of using Hellsing and/or Azumanga Daioh. Every year i swear, besides a Bleach, Naruto or One Piece video, there is always one or two that is Hellsing or Azumanga.
Gawd, makes me wanna just dish out some Pani Poni raws just to top it off with a parody anime in a parody AMV.
See you all at AX2006 and good luck

Yeah take a good look at Subruker's videos for AX2006. He never uses 1 liners. and every year pulls off amazingly funny videos. like you said pwolf. no offense to the creators (you did a good job), but it seems like a short cut to make a really funny video. The general audience at the contest probably never saw AMV Hell, so to them it was the next best thing.Pwolf wrote:i have nothing against the person who edited it but i really hate those kind of videos. i feel like they are cheap and the easy way to make a comedy video. a good comedy video doesn't need small parody one liners.
