Dir en grey: hirogaru yami no naka

Postby Alastor BDC » Fri May 12, 2006 10:06 pm

This is the Official Thread for the Dir en grey mep project.
Here is the basic info for dir en grey:
Dir en grey is a popular Japanese rock band formed in 1997. Starting out as a Visual Kei act the group has since experimented with various styles while maintaining the steady lineup of ? (Kyo) (vocals), ? (Kaoru) (guitar), Die (guitar), Toshiya (bass) and Shinya (drums). Their current music has become quite eclectic and is difficult to categorize, though generally they play a form of Hard rock music.

Considering the bands music is always about pain, lost, despair, and twisted fun the mep is going to be about that, so that means the amv must have that touch. The project is open to anyone that is interested but the editing must be top notch . You are allow to take up to 2 segments but lets not use a anime twice in the mep, so lets sort out which person takes what anime. All i ask is for full commitment to the project and your track, like please bring the beta at scheduled date.
Here are the segments of the project:

oh yeah, finally the real thing is up :o

as for the formats, I would advise you to only accept huffyuv/lagarith since you will have difficulties to edit xvids ;-)

moreover, are we allowed to fade our tracks in/out or is that up to you?

and one more note: you gotta promote this one a little more :P

Well so far I haven't had any problems with xvid but you may have a point, as for fading I'll take care of that, dont fade in or out, for transition reasons.
promote huh, have any ideas?

And don't lie.....

If you need raw footage contact me (via PM) and we can work out some kind of "thing."

I am going to strongly recommend using raw footage. For a number of reasons!
If I were coordination this project (as well as instances in the past) I would (/have) not allow subbed footage. It's distracting to the viewer and breaks the rules of this site.
Foremost if you wish to be taken seriously as an editor at the very least attempt seamless editing with as little interference as possible. I cannot stress this enough: BACK UP THOSE FILES AND GET AHOLD OF YOUR FOOTAGE THROUGH OTHER MEANS.

Not yet.

edit:
For Clever Sleazoid I am leaning twards Akira, but I reserve the right to include other random bits.
