Episode 19....oh boy!!!

Sakura is saved, but there still some unfinished battles Saber and Shirou had to face with their respective enemies. Everyone was then regrouped to where Caster is. At this point, Caster thought she won and wanted Saber to be her Servent. And lo' and behold, this is where the ultimate badass Servent appears, Gilgamesh!!!

And this is where the part where he launched a huge number of weapons against Caster. She tried to block it off and protect Kuzuki, but that proved to be useless as some of the blades went through her barrier and stabbed her to death. Her Master Kuzuki also faced the same fate.

We also got some interesting revelations here.
Saber's Master from the previous Holy Grail War was actually Shirou's dad. Also she and Gilgamesh had one hell of a quarrel with each other in the past. He even tried to PROPOSE to her. That bastard!!!

Interestingly enough it seemed that Shirous' dad and Saber had succeeded in obtaining the Holy Grail, but he ordered her to destroy it. Thus began that flashback from episode 1. Also according to Kotomine, there's a way for Saber to stay in the present world and that's for her to drink from the Holy Grail.

Next episode!!!

Shirou and Saber goes out on a DATE!!! And Saber is holding a tiger plushie! So CUTE!!! :D

I'm getting Tsukihime vibes when Shiki and Arcueid went out.

Oh boy indeed
Gilgamesh just took out in a single effortless attack what Saber, shirou, and Rin couldn't do together! AND he seems to be an enemy to boot.

Some awesome fight sequences in this episode, as well as the reapearance of ..... you know who ;p

Although I wonder if this is the same archer that was with Rin before.... Shirou and Rin seem to think he was left over from the previous war, and I beleive it was explained that once a servant is defeated, it can only return if summoned by another master , wich is what may have happened here. who knows. At least we get a tast of Archers true powers in this episode.

I cant wait to see where they take it from here.

They are all

Spoiler wrote:different version of Shirou. Rin's Archer seems like a Servant version of Shirou, whereas Gilgamesh is akin to a demi-god.

Furthermore, the similiarities between Giglamesh's desires and those of Shirou are not too different, except in presentation.

The developing themes in this anime have become quite powerful emotionally.

Something tells me that...
...near the end, Shirou will be able to activate the Unlimited Blade Works in order to fight Gil. And then comes the question of what's going to happen to Shirou's and Saber's relationship. I bet once they get the Holy Grail, Saber will be given a choice of whether to stay on the physical plane with him or go back to her era.

I was pretty much thinking along the same lines aswell. I think she will chose the first one in the end.

In terms of themes, it'll translate to "if you love someone, free them", be able to let them make their own decisions.

It is a love story after all. It seems especially relevant to the relationships of young people.

Now that's a cute, adult couple right there! Assassin just being there is pretty funny as well. 8-)

Though I did hear that Caster in the psuedo-sequel game Fate/hollow ateraxia is pretty clumsy and can't cook for squat.

Episode 20 is SO ADORABLE because Shirou asked Saber out on a date!!!

Quite of bit of amusing moments here and there that aren't too spoiler worthy. Like for example, Rin laughing at Shirou for even thinking about dating Saber, Ilya getting knocked out by Rin, Saber ripping a dress, and Saber getting immersed watching some Star Wars knock-off. Of course we're treated with more Saber blushing moments which is more than enough. And there were some issues of whether what Saber should really do. But nonetheless, it's one of the more romantic episodes yet. Though at the the end of the episode and the preview...
...Gilgamesh appeared, and he looked REALLY jealous of Shirou and Saber holding hands.

4 episodes left!!! Let's hope the production team doesn't hold anything back.

You had to go and remind me that it'll end. I hate you.

I'm not a fan of daytime drama shows, but I really enjoyed this episode.

I must say the producers are doing an admirable job keepin g this going strong so far. I realy hope they don't drop the ball at the end.

Episode 20 indeed reminded me of the date in Tsukihime. I Also like how Shirou has grown so much in strength (both physically and mentally) through the series.

But that preview.... Can't wait for next week!

Episode 20 was cute for the most part. I really do like how Shirou has grown up throughout the series. And then at the end, argg! Man, this series just keeps getting more awesome episode by episode. :)

I'm not going to say much about episode 21. I'd rather not say what'll happen. I'm just going to say that you will be in for some stuff! :D

And at the end of the ep: OH MY GOD!

That's all I'm going to say.

Wow, the way the story went with the whole sex scenes are such a climax-tease.

Spoiler wrote:First, Saber mentions that Shirous been inside her "many times" before, and now, we have Saber saying the've just finished replenishing her mana, with the ever so subtle Saber attaching a button and Shirou opening door screen to exit.

Anyway, the scene is so cliche. You have the whole reluctant girl and the very horny guy.

That whole Mordred scene puts a whole new spin on Lancelot, I think.
