found some stuff

is there a particular reason why you need a capture card? only reason I can think of is for tv/video game capture

if you have a video camera (I think I'm thinking about a DV video camera) you should be able to hook it up to your tv and capture directly, then connect it to your powerbook using firewire (I assume your laptop has a firewire port)

Doesn't your Powerbook have a DVD drive and you can get the footage that? However if you really want a capture card look here.

Yeah, I want to use it for Video Game and TV capture. I don't have a video camera that can do that. How much do they cost? I'm going to get a digital camera though, the Canon SD450. I don't think it has those features though. I'll check the links out right now guys.

Cool, it looks like a dv camera is a cooler option than gettin a capture card for mac. Hmm..but i'm low on money so I guess I'll have to look for a decent -_-' yet cheap one.

With my PowerBook, I use a Canopus ADVC-100 (now discontinued).

Its successor is the ADVC-110. S-Video or Composite video to DV, which iMovie and FCP can capture from without difficulty. It can also take DV output and convert it to S-Video or Composite video.

Newegg lists it for $230.

MovieBox DV. And yes, it does work with Macs, read through the page carefully :D

You can also try TVMAx, which I -think- would work with your laptop.
