Faylar wrote:Okay, I've tried the steps provided (with some modifications) to Devil May Cry 3.

The only programs I've switched with is PSS Demux instead of PSSPlex and MFAudio.

Everything was going fine. Everything. I've splited the ISOs into 4 portions with the 1GB as custom size. The first two ISOs works beautifully. The scenes were there, the .wav were there. However, the problem comes to the next 2 ISOs. ISO 3 gave me some HUGE 900+MB .swf file (Flash file? wtf?). ISO 4 gave me loads of junk.

I'm suspecting the the remaider of the videos I'm looking for are in ISO 3 inside the huge .swf file, but have no idea how to work on this.

Any help please?

Devil May Cry 3 Movies files inside the file : MDATA.AFS on the DVD. So just copy the file to your Hard Drive and use the AFSExplorer v3.2 to extract all the movies files inside that ASF. Remember the movies files are SFD extension ( the same to PSS ) so u can watch it with PSS Plex or PSS Demux.

Ok for the Kingdom Hearts 2 PS2 dis there is a folder with the PSS files already on the disc.

However the problem when using PSSDemux 1.26 I will get a .m2v file and a .dat file. Both of them i tested using MFAudio and all i hear is static.

Is there any other method to get the sound out? Thanks.

Hi, I just signed onto this site, just to thank Castor Troy for his great guide.. I've been trying to find a way to extract the cinemas from the PS2 Super Robot wars games from quite some time.

So Thanks Castor Troy! :D

Here're the link to the images I managed to extract

To LeonaFan,

I just used PSS Demux and used VirtualDub to splice in into the audio.. it came out ok..

And being bitchy will get you nowhere, especially when there's no existing obligation whatsoever for people to figure out and share this information with you.

Has anyone been able to successfully rip audio files from KH2 PSS files, or are they stored somewhere else?

No, Im trying various ways myself. The .dat file is the subtitles you see during cutscenes....but it isn't audio and I haven't been albe to obtain it. Anyone have any suggestions.

The pss files don't have audio streams on them. There stores somewhere else on the dvd. I tried looking through the iso for them awhile back, but to no avail. Your best bet is to capture the footage, separate the audio stream of the captured footage, and merge it back to the .pss files.

Inside the KH2 instruction booklet, it states the audio is compressed in some kind of high compression "S-Force" which is something Square made...

Also, on the back of the case, it states the audio is encoded in .pm3 or something.

Don't know if this info may help. :/

S-Force isn't an audio format/container, it's just a type of sound, like Dolby, Pro Logic II, ect. Square didn't make it, it's been around for a good while now.

Pm3 is something else altogether.

Ripping FX

Postby tarynn » Thu Apr 13, 2006 12:04 am

I was going through the initial post's instructions and trying to rip FFX. It SEEMED to work all right, but when I used the extractor, there weren't any movies listed to be extracted. Maybe I missed something, but some advice and/or instruction would be REALLY appreciated! Thanks!

I have a question about the dvd2avi. I can get the m2v files fine, and I can even use the dvd2avi fine, but the files are often HUGE. I try using the compressiong method (windows media 9 or something like that?) but I don't seem to have it and am having a problem finding it.

Anyway, my question is this: after getting the m2v, is there anything that can help me compress the files when I make the avi to save some space but keep decent quality? Thanks.

Ah and something I forgot. I ripped most of the DMC3 videos fine, but there are some that are just missing. Mostly, I wish that the final mission videos were in there (as they can be important). Does anyone know where they would be located on the disc if at all? Otherwise is there anywhere that I can find the videos to the final mission?
