hey baby hey baby yeah

Postby valentine » Wed Oct 02, 2002 1:30 pm

What is the actual name of the "The girls say: Hey baby, hey baby, Yeah" song, and who sings it?

I want to to put it in a vid but I can't find it!

It also has a line something like "just sippin on chamomile watchin all the boys and their sex apeal"

Thanks,
Valentine.

No Doubt is the band

If that song has any other title then I would habve no clue what it would be...because the lyrics are rather.....limited. They were the same group who did "Don't Speak" and "I'm just a girl". They have a pretty interesting band history too. Lately though, I just don't get them anymore. :?

Thanks!

Now I at least know where to look.
It was getting pretty frustrating because I thought it was called "Hey baby..." too and then someone else told me it was called "Chamomile" and I couldn't find it anywhere.

Indeed. They seem to have gone the way of trying to win some kind of popularity contest. I wouldn't mind the shift in their style if there was a reason for it, but to me it just seems like they're trying to get 'bigger' by switching to what a lot of kids seem to be listening to these days: hip-hop.

Yeah I used to like No Doubt. Tragic Kingdom was the last album I liked though. I guess they couldn't just stop after that... what with getting all that fame. But they were best when Gwen's brother was still in the band. At that stage, they weren't that great but they had more potential as a ska band. That's what I think anyway...

It's kinda comforting to know I wasn't the only person who noticed their fall from grace. I don't have any problem with a band going with what they want to follow even if I don't like it anymore. I just felt they all of a sudden started sounding 'cookie cutter' and looking that way too. Well, all except for the naked drummer guy...

It's mean to say, but I liked the music after the lead singer broke up with the bass guitarist (I forget their names) and her songs started getting thought heart wrenching. :)

This is the right time to sing the "sell out" song, yes? 8)

I love Tragic Kingdom as much as I loathe Rock Steady. Can't believe I wasted money on that hunk of crap... at least my sister gets some enjoyment out of it.

It's not just the shift to hip-hop (I like very little hip-hop); it's the complete lack of feeling in the music. Rock Steady has absolutely nothing unique about it. It sounds like everything else out there.

Oh, well.

Good luck with the video, Valentine. And yes, the others are right. The song is called Hey Baby.
