For the record, I'm a death metal fan, and I've already stated my opinions somewhere on the first page, but there comes a fine line between being a fan, and a psuedo-intellectual.

if you're such a big death metal fan why is it that you only seem to mention 3 death metal bands? I'm interested in knowing if your death metal knowledge excedes Death,Nile, and Necrophagist, and if it doesn't I'm always willing to lend a helping hand to the advancment of metal, so if we could POSSIBLY stop bickering MAYBE then we could proceed with the advancment of metal instead of arguing over miniscule differences in opinions.

and for the record, Necrophagist has all the properties of a TECHNICAL death metal band, no prog elements involved here at all

And triggers have to do with what, exactly? Triggers are essential for extreme metal bands with two kick drums, otherwise the kicks sound like ass over the PA a half hour through the set when the drummer starts to get winded.

P.S.-
the main reason metal drummers trigger their drums is so they can tighten their drum heads as tight as they possibly can so when they hit them the drum stick bounces off the head a lot more than it usually would allowing them to play extremely fast while retaining the sound of a regular drum, not whatever you said, besides Inferno only has one kick drum

"Personally, I only like to trigger the bass drums, as I love a good natural drum sound. I don’t care if it’s the best trigger unit in the world, nothing is going to sound as good as a drum that is perfectly tuned. The thing with the bass drums is that 1) it’s very difficult to get two bass drums to sound exactly the same, and 2) most times, double bass at higher tempos sounds like ass through a PA unless it’s triggered. To get a good consistent sound for double bass without triggers you need good soundgear (speakers, compressors, gates, etc.) and an excellent soundman, and even then, as the show progresses, the drummer will start getting tired, and while he may continue to play perfectly, the power of the strokes on the faster parts won’t be as strong as they were at the begining of the show, and there’s not much a soundman can do about that, because if he tries to raise the parameters for the kickdrum sound on the faster bits, as soon as the drummer comes back to a part with a slower tempo, the kick drums will be too loud because now the drummer will be playing with his natural power. With the triggers, it’s as easy as getting them to sound good, and that’s that. Consistent sound all night long."

Yes, I'm aware of death metal other than Nile/Necrophagist/Death. If you'd like me to name some that I listen to (not strictly death either, so if you're going to say "zomgz that band is melodic death LOLZ", get the sand out of your vagina.):

Cannibal Corpse
Morbid Angel
Arch Enemy
Dark Tranquillity
In Flames
Bloodbath
Atheist
Cynic
Quo Vadis
Cryptopsy
Dissection
Hate Eternal
Hypocrisy
The Berzerker
Torture Killer
Vader
Akercocke
Suffocation
Incantation
Edge of Sanity
Deicide
At the Gates

Is that a good enough list for you, oh great savior of all metal knowledge?

tru dat tru dat (ebonics for "you're absolutely correct")

as far as your list NDW, I will suffice to say you do have the "meat and potatoes" of the death metal genre with bands such as

Cannibal Corpse
Morbid Angel
Dark Tranquility
In Flames (hopefully you don't mean any of their new shit)
Bloodbath
Atheist
Dissection
Hate Eternal
Vader
Suffocation (I love the fact that two members of this band are black)
Deicide
and At the Gates (though questionable at times)

I will give your list a B+ and my seal of approval

I enjoy In Flames' new material, despite it not being melo-death anymore, and even verging on nu-metal. I still hold Jester Race and Whoracle in high regard. Is that a crime?

It all depends on who you're talking to.
If you're talking to me, yeah, it's a high crime punishable by the means of brutal execution. Svensson didn't do much as far as creativity (what else is new), and Friden took his vocals to a whole new level of shittiness, completely ruining the cd and their integrity as a respectable band,
as far as Jesper, he was the only one in the band to come through on Come Clarity (thats not saying much) though he is guilty by association by staying in In Flames, I have washed my hands of In Flames and will probably never buy, download, or pirate any of their music ever again

New In Flames (specifically Come Clarity) is just as good as old In Flames. It's just not melodic death metal anymore, and people can't accept the fact that their prized bands are changing. If Necrophagist suddenly turned into a pop-rock band, I would still listen to their old stuff, and their pop-rock stufff as well IF I liked it, which I'm sure I would because Muhammed wins.

Sure, and so far you haven't proven yourself to be very open-minded, bud.

I do realize that you are TRYING to be sarcasstic, and I now also realize how much of a fuckin idiot you are, and when you're trying to be sarcasstic you should realize that you need to exagerate what you say

the above satement is no exageration because there is no way NDW could ever possibly retain the amount of information I have gathered on the subject of death metal
