NES Project 2003

NES PROJECT 2003

Project Lead: MexicanJunior

Director: Fluxmeister (remix dump)

After seeing the success of the DDR project at AWA, MJ thought the idea
of a NES project along the same lines could be a great community project.

Goals:
-----
1 - Have Fun.

2 - Get some bodies moving... to NES music?! Now that's a challenge.

3 - Maybe even have this play at a con... :) This will take a lot of
pushing by community members...

Requirements:
------------
1 - Dance Music, or close... (notably many of the songs are trance like...)

2 - The music must be a remix from the original NES. (under 3 minutes?)

3 - Quality meant for public display... no watermarks/subs.

4 - Decent dance pace editing... nothing painful to watch nor boring haha.

5 - Help each other out and give and take criticism well. I am sure the levels
of editing skill and implementation will vary... but "No one gets left behind."

6 - Stress your editing skill... learn something new and use your talent to
extremes. :) Sync those notes like you are sharing your soul with the world!

Above and Beyond: (ideas for going all out)
----------------
1 - Use little things from the given game in the video. (little dancing
megaman bosses comes to mind and makes me grin haha)

2 - Sound Effects from the game...

3 - Other ideas...

General:
-------
None of this is finalized, and is subject to change of course. I'd like to thank
everyone for their interest and hope that we can make this all happen without
tooooo much fighting over songs... we may even let in duplicate songs (assuming
they use different remixes). I expect some conflict etc... but I think as long
as the goal of having a good time and putting together an entertaining final
product stays clear everything should be fine! :)

STARTING OFF:
============
1 - Listen to the remixes that appeal to you.

(Remix set #1 with personal opinions) (I went through 240 remixes... fun though!)

Please let me know if you have another remix you'd like to use... or just a good
one! AIM me so I can collect all of them. :)

2 - Think of which anime you'd like to use (or various possibly)

3 - Some things to be decided, how to connect the videos? Standard titling
for given games/editors/songs? song length limitations? (other stuff?)

4 - Reply to this thread with any ideas pertaining to the project. DO NOT
reply with what video/remix/anime you want to use. This will be decided
later! :)

Thanks for taking an interest,

Hmmm... I might like to be on this. I was thinking of trying to see if I could get on the DDR project next year, but this sounds just as interesting. I'll take a look at the songs when I get back to my computer.
I think it would probably be best to mix all the vids together into a megamix, like the DDR project, otherwise it would just be... a bunch of vids sharing a common theme... it wouldn't have that... *thing* binding it all together, you know?

Just got an idea for the between clips. old NES games that were a combination of games (those who own the Mario Bro. and Duck Hunt combination know what I'm talking about) had a menu system to choose games. This would require a bit of photoshop editing but the menu could probably be replicated very easily. Considering the age of this menu though it isn't very appealing to the eye.

In regards to the videos starting you culd use the actual game footage of the title screen where it says "press start" before the opening of the video.

Best idea I've got: However this is the most difficult...
Those who have been to any of nintendo's promotional events know what I'm talking about. they set up a number of consoles much like arcade machines side by side with each game. Now if you haad a CG screen of two consoles next to each other and when one video ends it zooms out from the screen, moves to the next and zooms in, it would provide for a smooth transition. The dileema here is taht it would require someone who is OUTSTANDING with computer graphics in order to pull it off. But I think this would provide for the smoothest transition.

In regards to an opening shot I could probably easily put together a thirty second opening for you that could lead to the first video since I have at least 25 of the titles listed. In regards to how Nintendo games open I can easily pu tsomething together involving the Nintendo logo, studio names and the likes therof to appear in the same fashion nintendo games have done so in the past. That would only be thefirst thirty seconds though so a transition between videos would still have to be created.

I'm thinking to limit the music just to the original NES only. If the project is successful, then we can move on to SNES next year, N64, and GC the following years. Maybe even expand to Sega, psx, xbox.... etc...

the things that start all because of MJ's drunkeness
An ocean of dust and randomly strung together pieces of hydrogen, serving no purpose other than allowing all of us to continue in our misery, doomed to an enternity of petty squabbles and meaningless ego trips, until the whole thing one day explodes and starts the whole shebang all over again. - Chaos_Angel

I agree with this idea. One, it helps to limit the number of tracks we'll end up using, thus making Fluxmaster's life bearable. Two, everyone love potential for a sequel :D The only problem I see is how are the poor AWA VAT crew going to schedule their Dance Challenge, DDR Project, and the Nintendo Project next year?
