Dreamcast Montage?

Postby The Zero Saber » Thu Dec 15, 2005 11:35 pm

Eh, I'm probably risking my ancient account here by just making this thread. If non-AMV project ideas are not allowed, then the thread can be deleted or closed. Just don't kill me for asking.

Anyways, I've wanted to do an epic promotional music video for the Sega Dreamcast for a while now. I figure I can either do it on my own, and make it a maximum of 5 minutes long, or attempt to find people who would like to make this a co-op project.

Now if this kind of idea is allowed on these forums, I'll go into greater detail of the plans and such. But for the moment, I guess I'll just wait for the answer from one of the mods here. Don't wanna waste the time typing it all up for naught, ya know?

Are you asking whether you can make a Dreamcast project using the Dreamcast games' footage? Yeah, you can..

I'm just asking if a project that has nothing to do with anime is allowed on these forums...Either way, it's cool.

I'd be interested. I can already think of two pretty fun ideas. Would there be a time limit on segments or a theme?

If it has to do with anime-styled cutscenes (NOT in-game footage) from video games that originated in Japan, then it's fine.

The Utena game has awesome cut scenes, and I've always loved that footage.

I think we should just forget about it. This kind of project would probably have better success at a more game focused video site lik gametrailers' fan section or something.

Also, I'm not in the position to do this now anyway. I'd be in over my head. I'm too busy with getting my site up again. Sorry for wasting everyone's time.

Well, like it was said, if we went with it, we won't have the support of a-m-v.org. We'd have to do it externally. And I don't think we'd have enough exposure that way to even get enough talented editors on board with it. Game editing isn't exactly as popular to begin with.

But uh, you're all free to talk amungst yourselves. I just dont see this project taking off at this rate. But who knows. If it does, I'd definitely want to get 1 or 2 videos in on it.

Its allowed as long as more than 50% of the project is animated (2d or 3D) cutscenes from the games rather than actual video game graphics, and they were made in Japan. Wich is dooable considering alot of games have those cutscenes in them.

Check out the NES and Video game Projects they have video game footage in alot of them, but more than 50% of it is either Anime or Animated, so its allowed.
