VCA Semifinal Round Up

I hope you don't mind me posting the dates here as well so if there are others like me (who didn't know where to find these and had to do multiple searches) won't ask you in this forum subject for them. Please forgive me for being pretentious in submitting these before anyone asks for them. It took me quite a few searches to find them and this was one of the first places I tried, so I'd like to make it easier on other members.

Here's the deadlines for the VCA (I give full credit to angelx03 for this info. I didn't know it myself and had to find it here)

Multiple memberships cleared: Jan 14, 2004
VCA category suggestions collected: Jan. 14, 2004
All videos entered: Jan. 14 18, 2004
All video information correct: Jan. 14 18, 2004
List of qualifying videos released: Jan. 17 18, 2004
Video nominations start: Jan. 19, 2004
Video nominations end: Jan. 31, 2004
Final voting begins: Feb. 2, 2004
Final voting ends: Feb. 15, 2004
Runoff Voting Begins (if needed): Feb. 17, 2004
Runoff voting ends (if needed): Feb. 21, 2004
Winners announced: Feb. 23, 2004
Winner shipping in formation received: March 1, 2004

LOL Thanks angelx03. I just got off work (sometimes looking at a computer screen all day makes your mind go numb) so I didn't even notice the dates were two years ago!!! Aggh! I try to be helpful and I crash and burn. I'm such a n00b! Aggh! I'm embarrassed how so much better at this everyone else seems to be Oh well live and learn right? LOL . . . heh eh eh heh (embarrassed laugh continues)

I'm also annoyed to see the same people in several categories with multiple videos. I'm sure some people maybe make 2 videos that qualify to be top in a category, but 3-4 or more videos that show up in basically every category they could get into. The VCA just lose more and more respect when this happens.

Well, same thing happens at AWA for Pro... And that's only the top 4 or 5 usually... This is nothing new when audiance voting is involved...

If it's possible, could the layout of the voting page be changed so that it's more obvious that you can only vote for 5? You can check as many videos as you want, so I did a couple categories before I realized that I was picking more than was allowed. I can see a lot of people, noobs especially, not realizing this at all, and I think this could affect the voting results slightly. Maybe put the "you can only pick 5 videos" line at the top of the page, and make it so that you can only check 5 at a time, and I think that would help a lot.

I did it too. Went through a few categories before realizing at the top of the page. Only 5 votes.
