I have 2 gigs of ram, and almost a TB of harddrive space, a trig is not any unit of measure for hard drive space, trig = trigonomtery = cos, sin, tan, sec, csc, cot.

I think you mean a terabyte, lol

I only have 1gb. I could definately use 2, but 1 gets me by. I probably wont go for 2 until I build a totally new system though.

In my laptop...uhh...512MB (but my task manager says I have a gig...any ideas? could it be that its SODIMM? or is the rest my virtual memory?)

for my new built-from-parts-i-found-on-ebay computer I'm getting 1gig (2x512) Corsair Value Select pc3200 dual-channel ddr (a review I found said the timings were 2.5-3-3-8)

as it is, my laptop has a little (just a little) bit of a fit running vdubmod and premiere pro1.5

256 megs. I probably won't get more RAM until I build a completely new system myself. I got this computer as a hand-me-down from my grandfather. It typically only causes problems when I try to use HuffYV12 or Lagarith in Premiere 6.5. Using bait-and-switch is murder on it, though. If I tried, I'd probably have to allot 5GB to virtual memory, if not more.

Had 256MB of RAM until today and never had any problems (I use Magix Edit Pro 2004, which for me is a very well-behaved program). I've now got 768MB RAM, and I'm debating whether I should pick up another 512MB while I can still get it hassle-free for £39.

I got 512. If I continue doing this after getting into grad school I will need a serious upgrade. If not then I don't care.

Yeay for the laptop user!

256 and I'm dying here... damn being poor... it's no wonder my last major project took me 4 months... well, I've developed a tolerance for it now, but I know I've reached the limits of what can be achieved (low on virtual memory errors ftw!)

I list both because I offload work from one to the other fairly often. Quantities are given in megabytes.
