New Beck, Peter Gabriel albums! >w<

Postby Big Big Truck » Tue Sep 24, 2002 12:11 pm

Unfortunately, I can't pick either of them up till after AWA, but I got a sneak peek at some of the tracks on PG's new album (entitled "Up"). It looks like he's going in a totally new direction and just occasionally glancing back over his shoulder at "So" and "Us".

"The Barry Williams Show" looks like it might be his big single this year, but I don't like it as much as the other tracks. It sounds like some bizarre hybrid of "Digging in the Dirt" and some Ninja Tune collab. Hrm. :?

Haven't heard anything from the new Beck yet, sad to say. I've been hearing good critical buzz though. Kwasek, if you're reading this, how is it?

Let's just hope that by Buffy you don't mean the utter shit known as "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" or "Buffy The Vampire Slayer:The Musical that Should Never Have Been Even Given a Chance to Slither Out of the Slush Hole it Came From"

I like Peter Gabriel he's got some good stuff. I was partially named because of Peter Gabriel, since my first name is Gabriel. Yes, my mom told me there was a connection :|

I must say, the new Peter Gabriel album is wicked. He really pulled something different off with this one. The electronica he used sounds very organic, and is something I haven't ever heard beyond Boards of Canada. I must give PG props for this CD, it's righteous.

And lets hope that you are not refering to Buffy as 'the utter shit known as "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" or "Buffy The Vampire Slayer:The Musical that Should Never Have Been Even Given a Chance to Slither Out of the Slush Hole it Came From"' because that would mean that you are either clueless or have some sort of brain damage.

They released "Once More With Feeling" on CD? Mwaha. I really enjoyed that. Wonder how long till we see Vampire Hunter D set to "Rest in Peace". :P

Oh, I forgot to mention - if you came to Brett and Doug Smith's VA panel at AWA on Saturday, Brett was playing the new album on the main programming audio system.

Hey, if anyone here has the CD, could you possibly post a scan of the CD? I picked up a promotional copy a couple of weeks before the album came out, and the disc is unprinted except for some imprinted text around the core. I'm just wondering what the final CD looks like.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

The price of the CD is very cheep in the US, like $12.
