"Black Steel" by Tricky

(Tricky is also the only black man in trip-hop I could think of offhand, mostly because I don't know that much trip-hop)

The former guitarist for Pavement and current guitar/vocalist for Preston School of Industry goes by the name Spiral Stairs. What is his real birth name?

15 days no response, my turn again I guess.

I sold my soul to the devil, and the price was cheap
And yo, it's cold on this level, 'cause it's twice as deep
But you don't hear me, ignorance is bliss and so on
Sometimes it's better to be thought dumb shall I go on?

The 36 Hour Rule is now in effect. Take over time is now.

Genre: Rap
Category: Real Names

Before he was gunned down in 1999, Karnail Pitts was originally a part of this rap group. One of the current members of this same rap group is a diabetic by the name of Rufuss Johnson.

Give me their rap names and name their rap group.

1 week and no answer.

Correct Answers:
Karnail Pitts = Bugz
Rufuss Johnson = Bizarre
Rap Group = D12

Artist Fact: D12 was originally supposed to be a 12 man rap group. It was going to be a Wu Tang Clan type thing, but it ended up being just 6 guys each with two names/personas. The original line-up was Bugz, Bizarre, Proof, Kon Artis, Kuniva, and Swifty. At first the idea was for Eminem to hit it big, get his own label, come back to Detroit, sign D12 to the new label, and make a guest appearance or 3 on their album. In 1999, everything was going as planned, until Karnail Pitts (Bugz) was gunned down in broad daylight. The incident was caught on tape. The rest of D12, not sure what to do, were face with a problem. Eminem suggested that they make him a part of the group, in place of their slain member, Bugz, and they became the D12 that we know today.
