I think what he said was "the extra characters, who were placed in the contest simply to create competition, should recieve only 1/2 a point for every vote recieved, or 1 point for every 2 votes, to make it fairer to those who actually sponsored a character themselves."

No. when two characters are sonsered by one person, the original plan was to give the better of the two all of the votes of both characters (kintaro would get taki's votes), They said that's too much, and I agreed. I may end up leaving it as it is though just so it's easier, (with the current standing of:

I am amazed Alexander "I kick ass in the name of God" Andersong actually got that many votes.
Maybe a Mr. Badass competition would be a better slot for him...
He did fight Alucard to a draw...

It's because when all other things are equal, the one with the best lines wins. Look at
Arnold and Sly, "Adriaaaaaan!" vs "I'll be back"/"terminated".
Shatner and Picard: "Kaaaaaaaaan!" vs "number two, do number one".
Harrison Ford vs Brendan Frasier; can act vs ahahaaahahaa.
Mr Cranky vs Ebert; "this movie made me want to mutilate my own genitals to distract me". vs "No roger, you're all wrong".

Hey! Nobody wants this to get ugly now. Besides, Keiichi has the most to offer any prospective votes. Since he's the best candidate and all.

Indeed. He has a beautiful, loyal girlfriend, and the curse/blessing that if anything tries to break them up, the heavens themselves will work to keep it from doing so.

I think It may be too late to keep Keiichi from winning. And Duelo is probably going to make it from the looks of it.
