No AVI Sound?

No AVI Sound?

Man this is making me really mad i can't figure it out. none of my media players can play avi sound, and i know they have sound because i have tryed it else were. it's not because i don't have the codec I know i have the codecs. I keep having to convert them to mpgs just whatch them and the brings down the quality. any ideas on what to do?

something wrong with the directshow 'default directsound device' filter is the best and only explanation I can come up with... and I dunno how you might go about fixing that :?

Grab a codec pack, like Nimo's Codec Pack and install it. You never can be too sure. :twisted:


Re-install Direct X.

Get latest drivers for sound card.


What happens if you import a AVI into virtual dub, then export a clip of it out as like indeo w/ Uncompressed PCM sound?

well i already downloaded nimo and put it in and nothing and for the second thing i don't know haven't tryed it but i will give it a shot.
