The dog thing, while an interesting idea is probably completely tangential to the show.

Anyway, to get back on track, here's the closest you'll find Inu Yasha to a puppy. The hands should be his human mother. I forget what episode.

The screencap is from InuYasha the Movie 3, after his mother flees the castle before it is destroyed by the fire (and the clash between InuYasha's father and Takemaro).

Actually, there was a lot of nice backstory material in the third movie, especially the episode recap movie extra on the disc. It was nice to see some of the episodes and events that I missed.

I wonder if Inuyasha could ever transform into a dog. Wouldn't that be cute!

Yes, Shibas and Akitas must be related! Maybe in the past there was only one breed and then two variations were created from it...

Actually, if Sesshoumaru and his father can transform, why couldn't Inuyasha do the same? That's only because he's a hanyou?

correct. You need to take a close look at all the times sess is about to transform(6(actual transformation),80,77,etc.)doesn't he look just the same as Inu about to and actually transforming into demon. It's just that even thou he transformed into a demon it's either he's about to and stopped in the process or until he gains contol of the mode he won't be able to.Wouldn't it be somthing if he lost control and transformed into a big dog....and then somehow Sess comes in and the two dogs battle it out.(just in case someone starts about this:probobly the reason Takahashi only has Sess turn dog ounce is because he lost an arm(and even thou we see it the tele)a three legged dog jumping around would be freaky.that's why she only shows him half transforming, maybe?)
I never thought that there would be the day...when this this sig would be upgraded.

I have thought sometimes that the reason Inuyasha goes kinda nuts when he goes full-demon is because his body isn't quite capable of making the full transformation to animal form. After all, like you pointed out, Inuyasha as crazy-demon looks a lot like Sesshomaru as he's about to transform.

Maybe each time Inuyasha transforms he gets closer to making the change to animal form.

After all, it doesn't really seem like his soul is really being devoured. Once Kagome sits him or his sword is returns he's back to the same old Inuyasha. (If feeling a little guilty over what he did in crazy-demon form.)

hmmm..... thats sound like the right answer, maybe thats what the tree ment by that his soul being devoured could be his dignity and pride (and maybe his friends)

That's an interesting possibility. Ah, the complexities of Inuyasha. I just love puzzling out what's going on. :D

I think most of us have seen this ep but Im going to spoiler it anyways He was fighting with Inuyasha in their fathers grave place thing and it was when he first got the tetsusaigua and it got full powered because he was protecting Kagome against Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru transformed into full demon and tried to kill them (as he always does... hes sesshomaru) and Inuyasha flew up cutting him with the tetsusaigua and chopped off his demon arm, so when he went back to human form, he had no arm. He did get another one with a jewel shard in it from naraku but that caught on fire so it didnt work very efficiently, then he got a water dragon claw I believe

Thanks. ^_^

(back to topic)

In a way losing that arm was a good thing for Sesshomaru. He's now able to attach the arms of other demons to the stump and gain a little power from that. Temporarily, though. I guess he must've gotten frustrated with the short term benifits, which would explain why he hasn't done that for a while.
