Wierd encodes?

Postby BMXRIDERSI » Wed Sep 25, 2002 11:08 pm

ok heres the thing.......

I want to make my next amv using the anime X, but sadly the first episode, a vital part of my video, dos not want to load into anything except for the window media player.......

I have tried loading in into adobe, virtual dub, and tmpgenc. I dont know what else to do about this. Without being able to load it into adobe or even encode to a different file, i asked around to see if others could find the ep encoded by a different group, but searches were not successful.

I will greatly accept any ideas :D

hmm... could it be smr maybe?
but even so... if it works in wmp, it should work in tmpg (they use the same method for reading avi files)
what codec is it?

Buy the DVD maybe?

Get a FourCC viewer from like divx digest and then post it :\

What error does virtual dub give you?

Could it possibly be a ASF or WMV renamed as .avi?

Either way it's probably shit for editing with and you would be better to get the DVD :\

Unless of course this is the X TV series, in which case you would do everyone a great service by WAITING for the DVDs :\

Yeah, last I checked there wasn't anything wrong with owning legitimate anime.

u should be able to tell the codec by right clicking and then properties, and under the summary tab
the only format that dosent say the codec is mpeg 1... but that should work in everything

o yea, smr is some strange patch that somehow modifies divx, i dont really know the details, but a lot of movies were encoded through it in the earlier days. But you should still be able to open it in tmpg.. it would just be black
hmm :?
