Please take a look at this AMV.

This AMV is really something.

Would you enjoy it even if you were not familiar with FMA?

While he is sort of recommending it, he is also asking a question, so it doesn't really belong there.

Hmmm. You are both right. I am sort of recomending this in asking that you take a look at it. It is not mine, to be sure.

More than a recomendation though I am trying to get at the heart of what makes a good AMV.

Why is this particular AMV good?

Actually, I didn't enjoy it at all. The song seemed boring and stale, as if the singer wasn't interested in his song. And if the song doesn't work, the amv doesn't work. There wasn't any range of emotions, even at the end, the tone was exactly the same throughout. I think that the song should've swelled at some point, been more dramatic. I think that the only people that would enjoy it would be fans of FMA, who are familiar with the story of Nina.

I've heard that this song was inspired by FMA, but I'm not entirely sure that's true.

Well, Yes, As someone above has already posted, you'll get to enjoy more the video if you know more about Nina's story..

On a side note, The lyrics do seem to fit a lot, somewhat scary.

So far it looks like the answer is: "depends on who is watching it."

example.

I'm going to agree with you that it was a crap amv, just because I'm feeling angsty right now.

You may or may not like the video. My question is more to those 5 op writers and 100+ star raters who thought that this was in fact a good AMV.

Please, this isn't my AMV and I don't want this thread to be about knocking this work. If you really didn't like it then please state why, constructively.

You will find it hard to pinpoint those 100 people, considering how many members this site has. There's no way to find out why they all liked it. No one can just guess as to why other people like things. We only know why we like or dislike things.

That was my intention. I stated why. I didn't mean to come off as trying to "knock" that AMV, I was just trying to lend my thoughts on the subject.
