I mean, I'd like to know what the video's supposed to be about, why was it made, what makes this one different from another video that uses the same anime and same music, etc... This can add just a little more incentive for me to download it.

-Subtitles
-stealing footage from other vids
-vids that are compressed so much that it is imposible to watch. (a 4 min vid that is less than 2MB)
-Random vids that look like someone just look a bunch of unrelated shots and threw them together in 10 min.
-People being proud of spending 5 hours making a vid. If I added up all the time I waited for various versions my vid to render, it would be more than 5 hours.
Most of the people that I know that bitch about them are people that can't do them very well. I think that's why a lot of them bitch. Though at times I think some videos with effects just scream out "Hey look, I can do effects!!".requiett wrote:I'd also say people who bash a video with lots of added FX, even when they're done well and add novelty to the video (as long as it's not fucking repetative ala NTB).

-Here's my view on that, THAT'S WHAT THE VIDEO'S FOR!! I'm here to perfect my work not to show other ppl what I want them to see. I don't mind if I get bad reviews, as long as they have a valid point, I WANT to know what they saw, what THEY think of my video.

Yes, but by telling others what you were trying to accomplish with the video in the description, you should get better responses. Because then they know what to look for, and then are better able to judge if the video did a good job or a bad job at accomplishing what you set out to do.

Then, if you're curious, read my description and I'll explain what it was about. If not, that's okay." Of course, that's simplistic, but you could word it differently. Get my drift? Just section off the "here's the plot" part, and tell them they can skip it if they don't care. That's what I plan to do with my next few videos.

Now I know what your intentions were so after I watch the video, I can go back and judge if the video did a good or bad job of accomplishing what you said in the description. This makes it easier to formulate a good opinion and gives you, the video creator, better feedback.
godix wrote:So don't judge a vid off the fact the creator let the video speak for itself and don't formulate a 'good opinion' of the video based on the description. An opinin on the video should be based on the video itself rather than some text that the majority of people who watch the thing will never read.
