When I'll return to home, I will try this programm, maybe it's working on ubuntu? And maybe it's accessible in synaptic?

It'd help if you could describe your issues with some more detail.

First off, I'm pretty sure that none of these programs are fundamentally broken: every program I have listed runs on my Gentoo systems, and I use them frequently. Secondly, I used to run a Debian system with Cinelerra and many other video tools. So I'm pretty sure that all of these tools will work on Ubuntu, since that's a Debian derivative.

What specific errors are you getting? Please be precise. Provide pertinent error dumps.

updates

No idea how I missed these, but check them out anyway:

The Garbure project

This project aims to develop a series of GNU/Linux systems aimed towards specific purposes, most of which are multimedia-related. The most pertinent one is phở, but there are others that may be interesting, such as burek (for AMV contest organizers, perhaps).

Also, Blender 2.37 was recently released. Its release notes and bugfixes are available for you to read. Enjoy; there's quite a bit of stuff in there.

Finally, ardour is at v0.9, beta29, and is really kicking ass.

Inkscape v.42 is out:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/

This is a major release; see http://www.inkscape.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ReleaseNotes042 for details. If you've been looking for a way to add vector graphics to a video, give Inkscape a try.

Postby Geminibabe » Sun Aug 07, 2005 2:33 pm

I've read almost every thread there except about 4. But I still have no idea what it is that you guys are talking about.
Srry I may seem like a N00b. Um but I wanted to know what would be the best software to put two different, or the same video together. if you dont know what I mean, check out Aluminum's Sailor Mars Dreams of Red
something just like that. If that doesn put it right the PLEASE PLEASE reply and ask for another example. :!:

What you need is an advanced video editor, basically. if you're looking for a free one, I think Zwei Stein can handle what you want. it's a little confusing, or so says the mob.

Basically, what you're looking for is something with multiple video layers. then you basically just output one to a corner. Like I said, I've never done this, as its never fit in a video concept of mine, but hope that helps[/url]

Quick clarification for anyone who might be confused:

Zwei Stein, ZS4, or whatever you want to call it does not belong in this thread. If you're still confused, see the first post in the thread.

GIMP 2.3.3 has just been released. It contains a prototype of the Simple Interactive Object Extraction foreground-selection algorithm, which has some pretty cool applications for rotoscoping and similar operations.

VCL Player Great thing, plays almost anything, even eDonkey temp files. Plays all incomplete or damaged media that other players cannot.
