Impossible - But I ask

Postby [Mike of the Desert] » Fri Jul 15, 2005 12:29 pm

I searched something like this for nearly five years, I do not have hope but I will anyway ask ;) . =)

I have a remote dial-up 56k modem that I use for the connection, and it is the only thing I can have since I live out of this world. (s i g h)

There is ANY way to do not pay $ every minute? Any way to have a payment every month?

This isn't a hardware issue, it's a service plan issue.

The only ways to get a different rate are to either contact your ISP to set up a different paymnt plan or switch ISPs.

I had no idea Italy's ISPs were about 10 years behind the times. Are there no other alternatives to what you have now?

It's not like this. MY HOME is about 10 years behind time.

40 METERS, and I would have cable to 9284932904MB/s at 0$. For make understand the idea.

40 meters, you know? You walk 10 second from my home.

And there is not anything. Anything.

Maybe setting up a wlan access point at a neighbours house and splitting the costs? 40meters shouldn't be a problem for wlan.

If you could perhaps explain your situation a little better. I'm not quite familiar with the laws/regulations in your country. Exactly what is preventing an ISP to run a line to your house?

I get the idea, but why do you pay for every minute you use? That is just weird..

I have a friend who lives kilometers away from the city I live in, and just like you he has a 56k Dial-up.. But he only pays for the connection monthly.. It's not like he pays for every minute.

And yes, this is a service plan issue, you should contact your internet provider. :?

Ask around for ADSL, I don't have cable but ADSL uses a regular phone line, currently I'm on 2mbps, it's pretty good.

There's NO way believe me, I called and asked they said, "Minimum there's be a wait of 18 months for any type of avaibility", it's a miracle they didn't laughed in front of me o.o
