Ideal OS enviroment for video editing?

Postby merrow » Thu Sep 19, 2002 5:23 am

I don't want to start an OS war or anything, but I need a little advice. I've been using Windows Me for a while now but I want to move off that platform due to reasons outside of video editing. But, when I make a move to a new OS I want to make sure that I won't be messing myself up on the video editing front.

Basically what I'm looking for is a platform that will allow me to use the following software with the least amount of work-arounds and problems.

Premiere 6.0
Photoshop 7.0
Nandub/Virtualdub
Illustrator 8.0
MGI Videowave 4
Dreamweaver UltraDev

Any suggestions?

Either Win2k or WinXP.

I prefer Win2k as it seems less buggy to me and more streamline. XP feels like Win2k with just a wuss interface(which I turned off).

There really isn't any point to get WinXP, unless you need l33t dual monitor support :\
