NEW STYLE OF AMV ( No bull)

Postby didrox » Mon Jul 11, 2005 2:07 am

Someone asked this question ..."HOW CAN YOU MAKE A NEW DBZ VID? CAUSE IF YOU SEEN ONE YOU SEEN THEM ALL."... well its not simple but it can be done. I gave is some thought and a AMV = ANIME MUSIC VIDEO has to have 1-anime 2-music and 3-be a video / movie (basically moving images)
Well to get to the point , korn-freek on a leash , linkin park-braking the habbit , twiztid-afraid of me, all videos which consist of anime ... Now think about it , if you mixed some dbz clips with some orginal video clips (the clips that are cosidered the orginal video the that the artist chosse to represent the song) you get a new STYLE ( STYLE NOT JUST A COOL LITLE THING) you get a whole new hybrid of AMV, less space to fill in, a more understandable concept and of course a hybrid which is pretty f*king cool . so if someone wants to try that out message me or something so i can check it out... nice concept and all just not my bag ...
Doing tha is legal as far as AMV standard go (but i could be wrong) anyways just saying that because i dont want to misslead anyone . if you got the time try doing one on coldplay-yellow , that would be the shizznit !

Strange, I can understand every single word in your post but when put together I'm left scratching my head.

Well if you can make it work, it would be interesting for sure.

I haven't seen any others or don't recall them at the moment. Both are not up for download so.. well.. guess yer outta luck for the time being unless you make one.

I don't know if it's done for DBZ, but the mix of animation from the music video with anime is already done. So I propose you should watch more AMV before you try to trade old hats as new ones.

The one I've seen is Project5555, using Daft Punk's "Interstella 5555". I don't know if it's cool, but I wonder how you will become more original with an already done idea.

Your explanation was too clear that it got me confused for a while.

So basicaly all your doing is using another video source, something which has bein doen alot of times before. Also, your description was overly complicated and confusing, and the use of dbz and linkin park in the same sentence sais things about an editor.

I've seen it done twice, but it looked quite out of place in both videos. Seemed more like filler than an attempt to be stylish, actually.

I have seen a good use of the music video/anime combo before. It's not DBZ, but something almost equally popular - Final Fantasy. Try these out:

Final Fantasy X-2 - BoA - "No. 1"
Final Fantasy X and X-2 - BoA - "Jewel Song"

I would especially recommend the second one. Despite how some people might think that "real" footage would destroy a video, this one actually works to its advantage. It's rare, but it does happen, and this video is a case of it. The first one is a dance video, and really just a lot of fun.

I think you'll like them! ^_^ I hope that's what you're going for, too.

Pretty much says the editor is making an anime music video. =|
